When talking about sports hotties, there is only one place to start: Anna Kournikova. She is beyond compare. Do you remember counting down the days until she "turned legal"? When really, what was the point? It wasn't like that special birthday meant that she was going to jump over the net for you.
No, Miss Anna liked her hockey players - Pavel Bure and Sergei Fedorov - and then fell for Enrique Iglesias. Some guys have all the luck - money, fame and Anna.
However, there are rumours that Anna might finally be tired of Enrique. Now maybe you have a have a chance to do your own version of the Escape video with her.
She has not played on the WTA since 2003, but no one can forget her. Justin Gimblestob obviously can't. This year the former player got in trouble for saying about our Russian beauty:
"Hate is a strong word - I just despise her to the maximum level below hate."
Wow! How can you hate her? We love her and here's why:
Looks: Do I really need to explain? Just check out the photo to the left from HotCelebrityPics.blogspot.com. Whether she is playing tennis or not, she is a head turner!
In a recent Dallas Morning News article, a personal trainer to the stars described Anna as curvy but fit. The fitness expert put her in the same class as such hotties as Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendes, Jessica Simpson and Halle Berry. As well, Aslyum picked her 33rd on its top 50 list of memorable pinups. The list was chockfull of Sports Illustrated models and pop culture hotties.
Success: Did Halle Berry ever win a Grand Slam title? Did Jessica Biel win two? Nope, but Kournikova did. Yes, they were Aussie Open titles in doubles (which she earned with fellow cutie Martina Hingis), but it wasn't like they were playing the Minot High (N.D.) girls tennis team (Who have been quite good over the years!). In spite of her final years being marred by injuries, Kournikova posted a 209-129 singles record and was ranked as high as No. 8 in the world. Not too shabby!
Personality: I don't really know her, but I remember reading something that showed she was my kind of girl. A tournament organizer called her a "show pony" or something like that and told about how Kourniova would go to the pool in thong and lay out in front of everyone. She is a goddess! As well, she is known to do a number of charity apperances. For an interesting story, which reveals Anna then and now, check out the Sports Illustrated archive post.
That's our girl. I am sure you like her as much as I do and wish she'd come back to play on the tour and not just the team tennis thing.
