It is an odd year so does that mean the Australian Open crown will be Serena Williams? An ESPN scribe points out she has won it in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
However, the writer also provides evidence that women's tennis is pretty unpredictable right now. Five different players have won the last five Grand Slams. Five players have also been ranked No. 1 in the world in the last five - and not even the same five!
Anyway, the Aussie Open, which starts next week, should be fun to watch ... especially with Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jakovic and the Williams sisters bringing sex appeal.
